Hey guys- I’m really excited to tell you all about my next room makeover! Any Bachelor or Bachelorette fans out there? My sister-in-law is one of the biggest Bach. fans ever- I don’t think she’s ever missed an episode and she tweets like a fiend during every episode! I actually have her to thank for connecting me with Desiree Hartsock, the Bachelorette from Season 9. Next week I’m headed back to the West Coast to makeover Desiree’s office/studio space!
It’s kinda-sorta like I got a rose… if they gave roses to designers… Okay, a tad cheesy, but just play along…
A few months back Desiree and I were emailing and the topic of her office/studio space came up. She told me how her home office/studio wasn’t an inspiring space. In addition to designing gowns and blogging, she’s also an artist and planning to get back into painting this year. I had seen the picture below in an article featuring Desiree’s work, so I didn’t expect the space to be all that bad.
I had her send me some pictures, and guys… it was that bad. The room has great bones, nice hardwood floors, natural light, storage, but not one ounce of style. I immediately emailed her back…
Desiree and I are working together next week to completely transform her office/studio into an amazing space that inspires her work and reflects her personal style! I can’t wait to hang out with Des and her husband Chris.
As far as the direction we’re going in for the makeover… Desiree grew up in Colorado, but spent many years living in SoCal. She’s currently living further north and misses the warmth and the sun of southern California, so I’m bringing it into her studio. This picture from a recent photo shoot she did worked as my inspiration for the entire space!
I’m working with the always awesome Lowe’s team to make this makeover happen- they’re my go-to for every makeover! Have you checked out their online selection lately? They have so many great things to choose from! Here’s just a peek at the design board I’m working off of… I didn’t want to give too much away, but you get the idea. Warm, sunny California style here we come!
Make sure you’re following along on Instagram and Snapchat (East Coast Creative-Monica) to keep up with our work on the west coast starting on Monday!
Have an awesome weekend guys!
