Well, this Weekender was pretty sweet! I headed to L.A. where I spent the weekend with Katy + Jon of the YouTube channel Lustrelux. Katy is an internationally recognized beauty expert and she and her husband Jon run their business together. They’re a pretty awesome dream team and I had the pleasure of helping them makeover the master bedroom in their new home. If you love farmhouse style, cute pups, and loads of barn doors… you’re going to love this Ep! Check it out below!
Crazy pretty right?!? I loved how it was a classic modern farmhouse style but with a little coastal spin due to the blue tones. And the dog stairs- I honestly was a little unsure about that project when I was planning out the whole room, but they became one of my favorite parts!!
I still want to hook you guys up with intel on the products and colors used in the episode, so those will be linked at the bottom of this post, but we’re doing something a little different this season, and instead of giving you all the details of the episode here on the blog, we created a mini series “The Weekender Behind the Design” It’s a fun little mini show where I chat through my design plan, what the homeowners were looking for, and some fun behind the scenes intel… AKA all the times we mess up! Bring on the bloopers!
Check out Katy + Jon’s Weekender Behind the Design below!
Let me know what you think of this new BTD series! We’re totally open to your input!
And now for the goods used to pull this makeover together! Click on an image for more info. I’m in love with the bed! It was really tricky because they had a Cal King mattress, so I had way less options, but this bed worked perfectly and I ended up loving the style!

Thanks for watching The Weekender guys!

What size is this bedroom? It looks like it’s not a huge room yet it looks large. I really like the barn doors. The wood valance ties everything together. Oh, and I like the way all the sunlight comes in the room!
Glad you like it! The room was pretty small- Maybe 12×13 or so. The high ceilings and natural light helped it seem much bigger!
