hey there! I'm monica

Is it really the second week of June already?! Well, that means that Father’s Day is just around the corner (this Sunday actually!) and to help us share a few fun gift ideas for all the amazing guys in your life, our blog assistant Diana has put together a Father’s Day Gift Idea round up. Take it away girl…

Diana

Father’s Day is this weekend, what?! Dads can be a little tough to shop for, am I right? Plus the same old sports gifts, fishing equipment, funny t-shirt, tie deal can get a little boring after a while. My husband loves the Pittsburgh Steelers and we have pretty much exhausted that gift theme with him for about the last two Father’s Days and three birthdays he’s celebrated! So this year I thought it would be nice to make him something for Father’s Day and have rounded up a few ideas I think the guys in your life will enjoy as well.

My guy loves Reese’s candy products, especially the peanut butter cups (at Easter time you better watch your peanut butter eggs, he just must steal them!). You can never go wrong with giving the dads in your life candy, plus if they have a mustache this DIY from Crystal of A Pumpkin and a Princess is the perfect idea. This was featured last year on Crafts Unleashed, but last month she updated this fun craft with a new printable, check it out here.

“I’ve Got the Best Dad Because…”

Every year for my husband’s birthday ( I do this for the kids’ birthdays as well) I print out funny quotes, cartoon characters, and photos, and post them on our kitchen wall. So, when I saw this huge printable from Sara at Confetti Sunshine I thought, “Why just print quotes and photos for birthdays, why not print them out for other celebrations as well!”. I know my guy would love to see what the kids come up with for “I’ve Got the Best Dad Because He Likes To…”, heck I’m interested in seeing what they write. It’s a great way to show dad how much he is loved without having to spend too much, you know he will love that!

“A Book All About the Best Dad in the World”

My step-daughters may be teens, but I think you are never too old to put together a DIY book all about your dad! Though it is a bit more fun to see the drawings that little ones come up and read their answers to questions like what dad does for work and how old they think dad is!  It’s gifts like this that we cherish and hold close to our hearts because our kids made them by hand with love. OK, I’m getting a little too mushy here for you! Check out the free printables from the ladies at Eighteen25 so your kids can put together this book for their dad.

“Daddy, We Love You Bear-y Much!”

In our household, gummy bears don’t stay around for very long. My husband is like a big kid when it comes to candy, as you can see this is the second candy item on the list! Plus, I am currently obsessed with mason jar crafts and have tons of jars sitting around the house and my kids keep telling me I need to do something with them. Well, now I can with this adorable Father’s Day gift idea from Kristyn of Lil’ Luna, stop by her blog post for the free Bear-y much printable tag if you think your guy would love a jar full of gummy bears too!

“Father’s Day Personalized Photo Bookmarks”

How precious are these Father’s Day personalized photo bookmarks?! I especially love the quote, “Almost any man can be a father, it takes someone really special to be a dad”, doesn’t that just melt your heart when you think about all the good men in your life who are amazing dads? You can purchase this template from Rebecca of Simple as That and slip them inside the DIY all about dad book, or one you bought at the book store for him.

“To Us, You are the World”

Yes, it’s another food idea and includes a jar, but there is another reason why I love this Father’s Day gift idea from Kristen Duke over at the Capturing Joy blog! I’m really a sucker for all of these heartfelt quotes and this is yet another great one that just shows our guys how much they are appreciated. Whether it’s Grandpa, Dad, Husband, Uncle, Brother, or Son, show these wonderful dads that, “To the World You May Just Be One Person. But to Us, You Are the World”. This tag is great for any gift and Kristen has put together a blank banner on the free printable as well so you can fill in who the Father’s Day gift is for.

“DIY Instagram Scrapbook”

I love taking Instagram pictures, these days who doesn’t?! Jess put together this adorable DIY Instagram Scrapbook earlier this year and when I recently saw the post again I thought how cool it would be as a Father’s Day gift for my husband. It’s pretty easy to put together too. She purchased a ready to go blank journal from Emerson Bindery, printed her photos, grabbed some washi tape, glue, pens, and stickers and had a DIY Instagram Scrapbook ready in minutes! Stop by her post for the complete details and for Monica’s tips on how to print your Instagram photos cheaply at any store, go here.

“Dad You Rock”

I love this graphic Monica put together two years ago for her own Father’s Day gift idea round up to use in a photo college of her kids holding a chalkboard sign of reasons why dad rocks! It’s one of my favorite gift ideas and really works for so many different occasions; Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, graduations, etc. Just change “Dad” to “Mom”, “Birthday Boy/Girl” or “Grad” and you’re good to go!

I can’t wait to get started on printing all of these quotes to post them to our kitchen wall, shh don’t tell my husband it’s a secret! What are you doing for the dads in your life this year for Father’s Day? Speaking of my own dad, I’m taking him out to lunch to my favorite local eatery ( he was begging to go again!), yet another guy in my life who is happy with food for a gift!

Happy Father’s Day!
