I can’t even imagine the planning that went in to all this Monica and Jess! So excited I can finally enter – had great fun following along and voting last year. I follow you on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest but I’m not on Twitter – hope that’s ok?

I entered my shutter island–couldn’t decide, but thought this included some of the various weeks contests–repurposing, paint. Hopefully, I entered it–keeps saying no link back even though there is :). Thanks, what fun!

Thanks so much for hosting such a fun contest!

Hi ladies! so excited to check out all the links. Mine includes a backlink to your blog, but it kept telling me it didn’t- i tried the plain old blog link and then tried linking directly to this post, and it kept saying that. so i entered and i think it has to be approved. i don’t know what was wrong! thanks for your help!

  7. says

Thanks for hosting. i had a little issue entering as well last night with the back link and it seemed all the ones I tried were in the link up this morning. I erased all but one. So excited to see all the amazing projects! Lesley

I hope I did everything right!! It said no back link when I linked directly to the post then I added a link just to the blog and I think it worked. Thanks for hosting!

What a fabulous contest! I am so excited! It’s so nice when the bigger blogs encourage “little guys” like me to show our stuff! A big thank you to the ladies organizing! I’m so excited to participate and check out all the great DIY eye candy!

I am so excited about this opportunity. Even though I am fairly new to blogging I have been a DIY, let’s see if I can do it kind of girl. So far I have accomplished many challenges in my life by facing them head up, hands busy, willing to learn. I can;t wait to see where this journey will lead me and the many whom have applied. Best of luck to all.

What your secret? How to you have time to do these magnificent projects. The Princess Room is a dream room. The unbelievable part is you were able to do this on a bare bones budget. Martha Stewart would be proud to show the world what people can do with a limited budget. I hope you write a book or even better have a cable show. This way you can reach millions on how to shop smart and use items from the attic. Being creative is a gift. Thank you for sharing it your imagination and creative cost saving tips.

I sent a copy of this to my brother wife. She a professional artist with a 3 year old daughter. Now shell get the upgrade from a cute room to a Princess Suites. On behalf of Adelaide who now 3 1/2. She will soon have a Princess Room.
    Bravo Lynda, Bravo …

I’m so excited for this contest. I put in the DIY built in bookshelves that my husband and I built, since it’s my most popular post on my blog. Thank you for hosting such a creative and fun challenge.

It was so hard to decide what to link up!!! I linked up my Coral and Mint Living Room Makeover! I hope everyone likes it! Tons of hard work and a crazy amount of DIY projects went into that room. Thanks so much for hosting such an awesome link party and competition! So much talent in blogland deserves to be recognized! I sure love this! xoxo

Can’t wait to see who makes makes the cut! It’s always so exciting!

    Hugs!

I would have so loved to link up a project this year but if I was picked competing wouldn’t fit in the schedule this year. 7 months pregnant, house renovation, plus living at my parents with limited space and access to my craft and DIY supplies would make for a tough time. I’m excited to follow along anyways and hope you’ll be continuing the series again next year!

  23. says

Was worried I wouldn’t be able to finish my project in time for the submission deadline. Just linked up the herringbone ceiling and the flat washer chandelier in my laundry room! Talk about cutting it close! Super excited to participate. Thanks for offering us this wonderful opportunity.

#163—this lady is FULL of super ideas not just this one! Check her out! This lady is so talented and full of common sense ideas that many of us “normal” moms would NEVER think of doing. I’ve been following her ideas for some time and totally in awe of her creative and innovative DIY’s!

  25. says

Linked up my project while I was away on vacay, and now just having time to go through the other submissions. SO much amazing talent!!!! There are now a huge number of projects on my “to do” list…!!!

    Keeping my fingers crossed! :)

So many cute ideas. Since I am born to craft I love what #295 did with the studio reveal. My wheels are turning.

I just read about this all less than 24 hours ago and I can’t even describe the excitement! I am kicking myself now for not taking photos of all of the home improvements and up cycling projects completed last summer! My blog was geared towards primarily paper crafting and I’m still very new to blogging and photography so I have mucho room for improvement there! Thanks ladies for such an incredible opportunity! I just got to go through the other designers projects and am so excited to follow #CWTS2014! Seriously, what a dream!

  1. […] Before we get started let’s see the befores shall we? Before: After: The first day after applying the milk paint I was so excited, it all went on so well the paint looked awesome. The next morning I happily got to work, mixed my paint and waited and mixed again and started painting. After it dried I came back to paint again, OH NO! There was massive amounts of crackling all over the vanity. My heart dropped into my stomach and I wanted to cry. This is not what I had planned, not at all. Then I remembered what Allison said over at The Golden Sycamore. I sat down on the floor and just told myself: “this is why it’s ok, it’s going to teach me to let go. I can deal with this, it’s not what I had planned but I can make it work”. I had to remind myself of these things many times. As I sat there trying to figure out what to do; I remembered I had, had the space heater in the bathroom with me and after checking the FAQs on Miss Mustard Seed’s website I figured that must have been what went wrong. Upon further investigation of the FAQs I saw that I could use water based polyurethane to prevent any more chipping. YES! I wasn’t going to have to scrap it! From then on it was smooth sailing. I used my trusty paint pen to paint up the hardware like I showed you last week, I was going to get new hardware anyways so I figured why not give it a shot. It didn’t turn out well on the escutcheons, so later when it warms up I will flip them over and spray paint them. Oh and Bertrand we can’t forget him, he finally has a home. Don’t you just love him? The light fixture used to have dated glass shades so I removed them and replaced them with these lovely linen shades I had from Ballard Designs. After spending far too many hours to count searching for the perfect bathroom wall shelf my parents gave me this gorgeous one few years ago for Christmas. Last week was my little man’s birthday, I didn’t know what to get him so I made him this quote from Doctor Who on Pic Monkey: “Babe, babe, sugar, sweetheart”. We LOVE Doctor Who and this is one of our favorite lines which we say to each other all the time. I say we love Doctor Who in just about every other post.   I am in love with the matelasse shower curtain; it’s made in Portugal of 100% cotton. And of course my pseudo gallery wall, I am not sure what I am going to put in them…I think it may be different than photos I’ve thought about it and I’m not sure I want people’s faces staring at me when I am in there. TMI? Hehe And one of my favorite pieces from a trip to Florida: this agate nightlight. I love stones, it’s hereditary I can’t help it. Well my dears, if you haven’t already head over to the link party that I am co-hosting and enter your favorite posts I can’t wait to see what you have been up to! 6. […] Yep, this is a new blog.  Most of you know me from iloverehabs.com.  If you are coming here and see absolutely no content you can go over there and check the last 5 years of my rehabs.  I have moved, transitioned jobs, and helping my husband start his business so why not transition the blog?  I took some time off from blogging to pray and make sure this is what I want to pursue.  I have lots to tell you but there is a reason I am choosing to post today.  I am excited to enter a little competition.  Honestly, it would be fun to do all of the challenges and my husband (who is my biggest supporter) encouraged me to go for it.  It’s probably a long shot but I am not one who likes to leave things on the table and open the opportunity for the words “what if” to play their game.  If anything, it has been the “kick in the pants” I have needed to get the ball rolling with Midwest Eclectic.  So what is this competition…..  The Ladies over at East Coast Creative are putting together a little project showdown.  Check it out here.
