There are two things I love right now: Dash & Albert and kilim rugs. Combine them and I about die and go to heaven. (Dramatic, much?) So when I saw that Wayfair had a whole line of D & A rugs that included this Texcoco Kelm rug, I knew it had to be mine.
After I built the Pottery Barn knockoff console table for the hallway in my entry (which I love, by the way), I started craving a little color in there. This rug has such gorgeous, rich colors- blue, eggplant, charcoal, red- which makes me one happy girl!
And the texture…oh, the texture. I’m not sure if you’ve ever felt a kilim, but they are heavy, flat-woven rugs, so they’re not soft to the touch, but they make up for that with major style! The Handmade Home just did an awesome round-up of killer kilims if you want to see more. They really are gorgeous.
I’m already planning on adding a bit more style to this entryway (starting with new, wide-plank hickory floors!), but that’s a post for another day. For now, I’m just making lots of unnecessary stops by the front door to gaze lovingly at my new rug. I kind of want one for every room of the house!
Make sure you check out Wayfair for tons of awesome rugs and decor for your home!
But first, tell me, are you on the kilim rug bandwagon, too?
Kilim rugs definitely seem to be all the rage right now! I’m not sure how I feel about them yet… =]
Hi Runt!
I think it all depends on what color combination you pick out!
