hey there! I'm monica

I pride myself on making amazing style and design accessible for everyone, regardless of location, budget, or ability! My design philosophy is rooted in authenticity + attainability - If I can do it, you can too! My work has been featured in countless publications, but I take the most pride in homeowners that have been personally inspired by my DIY ideas and have tried something in their own homes!

One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is to wrap presents.  I love having tons of choices of ribbon, greenery, paper, tags, accents, and more.  What I don’t love to do during the holiday season is drag out all my wrapping supplies, make a disaster of my family room while wrapping, and then pack it all back up, just so I can do the same thing the next day!  I’ve totally solved that problem by creating a Holiday Wrapping Station that looks cute, so it can stay out throughout the entire season!

Here’s how you can create your own holiday wrapping station!

Step 1:  Choose a piece of furniture with some storage.  I started off with an old changing table… we’re SO done with babies here in the Mangin family (4 was plenty thank you!), but a changing table has storage under it and a nice wood boarder around the top to hold all my supplies.

Step 2:  Add Holiday Artwork!  I teamed up with Snapfish to bring one of my own holiday art designs to life!

We’re serious ELF fans in this house, so I designed a print around Buddy’s most famous phrase.  I ordered it as a framed canvas… what?!? you can frame a canvas!  I’m not sure how I’d never considered that as an option before, but let me tell you, I love the result!  My print still has the texture of canvas, but has a more finished and complete feel because of the black frame.

For the whole month of November, I’m giving away this print as a free download.  You can save it to your computer and print it any size you’d like.

I also layered in a few empty, green frames from my dining room gallery wall for a bit of a pop of color.

Step 3: Gather a few decorative containers.  I used this tiered serving tray to hold ribbon, rope, and twine.  I tied one of my gift tags right onto the top to make it look festive!

I used a mason jar to hold all my faux berries and greenery as well.

Step 4:  Layer a Garland. I’m in love with this pinecone garland from Lowe’s.  I bought a few to decorate presents with, but layered it over my Snapfish canvas to look like part of my decorative styling.  Whenever I need a piece for a present, I just cut some off.  It looks adorable and it’s functional!

I generally wrap presents on the floor or at the table, but then I head over to my wrapping station to do all the fun decorating!  I keep my scissors and tape right there, so they’re handy and my kids know… these are mommy’s scissors… keep your paws off!

Here are a few of my favorite wrapping supplies to keep on hand…

Wrapping Station Must Haves:

clear tape | scissors | greenery (real or artificial) | berries | twine | white string | ribbon | flat ornaments (as gift tags) | sharpie markers (black, silver, gold) | Wrapping paper | Kraft Paper | hot glue gun |

All the wrapping paper and supplies you see in these images is from Lowe’s.  They have an awesome selection this year! Tomorrow I’m headed to New Jersey to complete my holiday makeover with Lowe’s and this is a sneak peek of some of the present wrapping goodness that is to come!

I hope this idea helps you this holiday season as much as it has helped me!  I love that this little area is functional and looks super cute styled with my custom Snapfish canvas and wrapping accessories.  It totally has my kiddos excited about their pretty packages under the tree!

If you head over to my Instagram account,  I’m giving away a $50 Snapfish gift card so one of you can order your own framed canvas or order anything else you’d like- it’s perfect timing for holiday cards! You can also  Join Snapfish Superfine! – it’s a place to share your Snapfish projects and enter to win prizes throughout the holiday season!

Happy Holidays Guys!
