Eric and I got new iPhones about 5 months ago- Woohoo!! Upgrade time is like Christmas isn’t it?? ย We got our phones and I picked up a really cheap case because I knew I shouldn’t go even 5 minutes without some kind of protection for my phone. ย Between DIY projects and 4 kids- it doesn’t really stand a chance unprotected!! ย I figured I’d get home and pick out a really cute case on etsy, but now 5 months have passed and I’ve still been sporting the ugly cheepo case.
I was feeling like I haven’t done a crafty project in a long time- we do a ton of bigger DIY projects on our TV show “Knock It Off!”, but crafty ones, not as often. ย So, I decided it was time to DIY my own iPhone case! Now, since I let my kids play on my phone, I knew that whatever I did had to be super durable! ย Right now my kids are obsessed with the Piano Tiles game (aka “white tiles”) ย They wanted me to try last week, so I played a round and got a high score of 57. ย I thought that was big stuff until I learned that 3 out of my 4 kids always score over 100 and even my 5 year old had schooled me. ย I am SO NOT a gamer!! ย Anyhow…back to the case. ย I wanted a simple case, but something with some fun edginess too! ย I decided on a plain white case and some studs. ย I knew that Krazy Glueย would be the perfect adhesive to stand up to my Krazy kids!
Here’s My DIY Studded iPhone Case!
Making it was really simple, and just the right amount of craftiness to get it out of my system! I started with metal studs from the craft store- the ones intended to be ironed on, not the ones with the metal post on the back.
Next, I pulled out my Krazy Glue. ย My very first memories of Krazy Glue from when I was around middle school age and I would always glue my fingers together when working on projects! I knew from that moment on that the stuff was legit and my go-to for projects that needed a serious bond! It’s strong and dries quickly. ย Win-Win!
I was thrilled to learn that the same Krazy Glueย I love now comes in a BIG 20g size! With the amount of projects I do, ย this size is much better and it’s perfect for larger scale projects. ย I put a dot of glue on each individual stud and placed them on the iPhone case. ย Once it had fully dried, I tested it out a bit and those babies aren’t going anywhere! The Krazy Glue is making sure of that!
And since I always promise to keep things real around here, I’ve gotta show you one of my attempts that was a total fail!! ย I was really diggin’ the idea of leather and studs together… ย but I didn’t have the right cutting tools I needed- a lot of my stuff makes it’s way to our show materials bins and never returns, so my cuts were atrocious and it overall just looked terrible. ย So, next time you have a complete FAIL on an idea, just look back at this hot mess and it will make you feel better!
Thankfully I stuck it out, tried again, and ended up with a new case that I love! ย Another thing I love is saving money, but I’m not a coupon clipper. ย I tried it a few times, cut all the coupons and then left them in the car- didn’t save a penny. ย Dangit! ย But, thanks to my now cute iPhone, I am a huge fan of Apps that save me some moolah! ย Have you heard about Jingit? ย It’s pretty cool!
Basically, with the Jingitย app, you can earn cash instantly online or in person at the store. ย They partner with tons of ย great brands that I already use, and it’s pretty simple to do! ย I love that I don’t have to have an app for every store I use- this is one stop shopping!
I used Jingitย to get a discount on my Krazy Glue for my iPhone case. ย I logged into the App and “checked in” at Walmart and it showed me what discounts were available.
There are some deals where you click and it plays a super quick video featuring the product- they’re really fast – kind of like a mini commercial before you get the savings. I didn’t mind it at all. So much better than clipping coupons! ย The other cool thing is that you can actually earn cash back in the Jingit app! It will accrue in your account! ย Gotta love free money!
And since I know you guys love free money as much as I do, we’re giving away a $500 WalMart Giftcard! ย They have tons of craft supplies and small scale tools for your next DIY project!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jingitย but any project fails or successes are totally on me!

I have a project involving some broken depression era glass that I foraged from my parent’s woods (used to be a dumping ground for my grandparent’s farm) that I could use some Krazy Glue on.
