Even though we’re in the midst of Round 1 of Creating with the Stars, we’re taking a quick break to participate in a fun blog hop. We were asked to be a part of “She Sent Me What?” the brainchild of Jen Rizzo. Basically 21 bloggers thrifted a cool item and sent it to another blogger to use in their home. Even during this busy CWTS season- this was too fun to pass up!
I sent something awesome to Beckie from Infarrantly Creative and to be honest, I wanted to keep it myself. I know that’s kind of selfish, but I thought it was awesome! To see what I bought, you’ve got to visit Beckie’s blog and see what she did with it!

So, my mail was from the fabulous Lindsay from Makely– I love this lady, she’s creative, fun, and inspiring!
If you’re visiting from Makely- Hey! Glad you’re here, if you’re down with Lindsay, then we’re down with you!
You might have seen a little sneak peek on IG a few weeks ago…
Lindsey sent me a wooden tchotchke that kind of looked like a cross between a hippo and bear!
I couldn’t tell which it was more of- hippo or bear… let me know what you think.
Rather than use it in it’s traditional way- plopped on a shelf, I decided to turn it into a print. I feel 100% confident that the hippo-bear had something to say…
I get “hangry” quite a bit, so I can only imagine a hippo-bear does too!
This one is for Callen. He was helping me take pictures (AKA I was trying to make him feel included while I took pics) so I decided to make one print for his bedroom too. We read Where The Wild Things Are a lot and this has kind of become my phrase for Cal. I’m pretty sure hippo-bear would eat him up, but in a less loving, maternal way. Yikes.
Here’s our hungry hippo-bear on my piano
And Callen’s print- I didn’t get a chance to get it into his room yet. Actually my awesome BFF ran over to my house to take a few pics for me, because I forgot to before I left for Mexico.
I love my hippo-bear from Lindsay
THANKS so much girl!! Hope you like what I’ve done with him.

Your hippo bear is adorable!
SO fun! What an original take! ;}
So cute, thanks for sharing.
Very cute! 🙂
I laughed so long, it took me forever to calm down and comment. To read the description of your item, and then scroll down to the picture … well, it REALLY IS a hippo-bear! I’m following everyone from Kari’s over at Thistlewood Farms. These are all fantastic projects but YOURS gets an A+++ for originality. LOVE IT!
