hey there! I'm monica

I pride myself on making amazing style and design accessible for everyone, regardless of location, budget, or ability! My design philosophy is rooted in authenticity + attainability - If I can do it, you can too! My work has been featured in countless publications, but I take the most pride in homeowners that have been personally inspired by my DIY ideas and have tried something in their own homes!

As we mentioned in our big Creating with the Stars announcement post, we are pretty stoked about our sponsors this year and all of the amazing prizes they have in store for our blog stars, contestants, and our readers! So, since they have shown us so much love, we thought we should give some right back. Also, if you haven’t submitted your project yet, the CWTS link up went live yesterday.

So, let’s kick this fabulous list of sponsors off with Miss Martha Stewart…

MSL_logo_blackWe are so excited to have Martha and her team from Martha Stewart Living  choose a favorite project from the last two rounds.  Not only are Jess and I big fans of Martha, but we also love the variety of ideas that you can find on the Martha Stewart Living website and in the magazine. From recipes and party themes to crafts and home decor for every season and holiday, Martha and her team create inspiration for everything and we can’t get enough of it!

We really couldn’t ask for more than this amazing all inclusive vacation package from Apple Vacations  and Occidental Grand Punta Cana to thank you, our readers, with. It’s a pretty sweet giveaway that you won’t want to miss out on. To find out more information about this trip, these two incredible sponsors and to hear about when I’ll be testing out the digs for you, check out my post here.

ForRent.com  is not just a great source for finding an apartment, but also for finding inspiration for apartment living. Check out their blog for awesome tips on how to style your space that may be temporary but still needs functionality and character. The grand prize winner of Creating with the Stars will receive a $1000 Visa gift card from ForRent while the blog star will receive a $500 Visa gift card, pretty sweet right?!

wayfair

If you saw my kids’ playroom makeover, Jess’s gorgeous Kilim Rug, and my modern grapevine wreath, then you know how much we love Wayfair products. They have such a wide variety from furniture and kitchen decor to bed & bath and even home improvement items, which you know we love! No matter your taste and style, they have it…another reason why we love them because you know all too well how different Jess’s style can be from mine sometimes! Wayfair is giving both the blog star and contestant who wins the final round of CWTS a $500 gift card, so remember to think of us when you’re shopping!

ryobi

As DIY bloggers we love power tools and whether it’s a saw, a cordless drill, or a power paint sprayer, RYOBI Tools  is where it’s at ladies and gents!  If you are in serious need of a great tool set for all of your DIY projects, you definitely don’t want to miss out on entering Creating with the Stars. RYOBI Tools is supplying our semi-finalists in round 3 with awesome ultimate combo tool kits, and what DIY blogger wouldn’t love to win that!

LucentLampworks

Jess and I both have gorgeous lighting fixtures in our homes from Lucent Lampworks , which just goes to show you how unique their products are if they work in both of our spaces! If you love the look of mason jar lighting but just don’t have that DIYer touch, then pieces like this glass sconce from Lucent Lampworks are fixtures you will probably love. Or if your home has a more vintage flair, you might like this Vintage Petticoat Milk Glass Light. How much fun is this Vintage English Fire Bucket Light! If you love these pieces as much as we do and have entered CWTS, you may just get the chance to win our semi-final round and receive a $250 Lucent Lampworks gift card!

minted-small

We love Minted ; their blog Julep, their cards (which I had a tough time with during the holiday season having to select just one Christmas card design from so many amazing choices, and their gorgeous limited edition art prints. On their blog they feature their favorite designs, wedding decor, DIY projects, and more. We’re excited about teaming up with them, our semi-finalists will be receiving a $150 gift card to their shop, so you better enter if you are in need of impressive holiday cards this year!

anniesloan

We love Annie Sloan  products, especially their chalk paint…remember my awesome green piano and Jess’s simple but chic fireplace upgrade? It’s so easy to work with; no sanding, no stripping, or primer, just paint with it and go! Have you used it before, we would love to hear what you’ve painted with it? If you haven’t tried it yet then entering our contest is a must because our 2nd round winners are going to receive a $150 worth of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint decorative paint products…score!

modermasters

Wait until you see how gorgeous Modern Masters  paints are! We recently used their metallic cranberry paint in a Knock it Off episode and can’t wait to show you the results. Not only do they have stunning metallic paints, but textured, theme, black light paints, glazes and more. Since week two is all about paint, what could be better than winning beautiful paint products like a $150 gift card from Modern Masters to go along with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint gift card!

Rust-Oleum_Logo

To complete the paint products in round 2, the winner and blog star of those DIY projects will also receive $150 worth of Rust-Oleum paint products. If you have a lot of projects in your home that need some love then this round is perfect for you, a little paint can go a long way. Just check out Jess’s amazing DIY knock off console table  she made look like steel by using Rust-Oleum metallic spray paint, genius or what…I think so! I also used this same metallic bronze spray paint on my DIY Modern Pendant Light bulb splitter. From a table to a light fixture, Rust-Oleum paint is amazing on everything and anything!

RoyalDesignStudio

We are in love with Royal Design Studio ‘s new Raven and Lily line and have recently used it to stencil curtains on an episode of Knock it Off.  It took simple, white curtains to the next level and made them look so elegant and chic. Using Royal Design Studio stencils are great for accent walls as well, they help bring a fun and unique design to any room. Our first round winner and blog star will receive a $150 gift card  to Royal Design Studio, so be sure to check out our projects for inspiration when you win!

worthwhilewear

This non-profit organization is so near and dear to our hearts. Worthwhile Wear  is on a mission to prevent and stop human trafficking and not only overseas but in the Philadelphia area as well. We recently teamed up with them for an event to raise awareness about their new project, “The Well”, which is a long-term aftercare and housing program for women and children who have been exploited to human trafficking. Something Worthwhile Wear already does, is teach these young girls a skill they can use and profit from. Some of those skills they are taught is jewelry making and sewing, which is where the Worthwhile Wear shop comes in. The winner and blog star from round one will receive a $150 gift card to Worthwhile Wear’s shop that is filled with handmade products that are made by these women, so by wearing their jewelry, bags and accessories they will be spreading this important message with beauty.

sweettheorySarah from Sweet Theory Design  is such a sweet heart who we had the chance of meeting in person at Haven a few years back. Not only does she create amazing blog designs but she is always there if you need help with any blog code questions, or even to help you install your new blog design, which she did for us! Our actual blog design was created by Jamie Joyet, our Blogger to WP Migration by Laura at Candyland Studio, and it was all installed by Sarah! We’re so excited that she is helping us give a blog refresh (a $100 value) to the winner of round one. So if you are new to blogging and need a new look, she is here to help!

These are some pretty serious prizes for each round of Creating with the Stars contestant winners and blog stars, plus a really incredible vacation giveaway for anyone…if only we could enter! We’re so grateful for this amazing team of sponsors and would love for you to stop by their websites to check out more of what they have to offer and who they are.

OK, so what are you waiting for…get those projects submitted already over on our Link up post and stop procrastinating! We can’t wait to start looking through everyone’s submissions, thank you for all of the support and love for #CWTS2014.
