Hey guys! Today is one of my favorite live tv days of the year – I’m sharing Pinterest Inspired DIY Handmade Gift ideas on Live! with Kelly and Ryan!  This is one of my favorite segments to pull together, because we get to scour Pinterest and try out so many cool, fun gift ideas that so many bloggers and creatives have come up with throughout the year!  This year, I’m excited to include some project inspiration from personal friends during the segment!!

Once the show airs, I’ll embed the segment here so that you can check it out, but in the meantime… here’s the Pinterest board where we’ve rounded up a bunch of projects that inspired the ones we tried on air.  Pinterest is all about TRYING new things – and I couldn’t be more on board with that message! I’ll be completely honest, some of these projects (ahem Bath Bombs) gave me a real run for my money… it turns out that following measurements closely, is actually somewhat necessary. HA!  The thing is, I love the idea of giving handmade gifts – they’re fun to make, show that a little extra care went into them, BUT they’ve also gotta be something your friend or family actually wants… amiright? That was our goal when we rounded up these gift ideas. So, give em a try and let us know what your family and friends think!

1- Tattly Tattoo Ornaments

I love Tattly – a small Brooklyn based company.  These temporary tattoo ornaments take DIY ornaments to the next level! They look awesome, but are super customizable because they have so many different, fun styles.  I chose some NYC themed tats for Kelly + Ryan.  Check out their full tutorial here.

2- DIY Bath Bombs and Bath Salts

I mentioned that these were challenging at first, but once I got the hang of them, I had a lot of fun trying out various people’s recipes and approaches.  I found that using baking forms was easiest for me to make the shapes.

3- Infused Vodka

This gift idea was really fun to test out! I tried a bunch of different recipes, but one of my personal favorites was this one from my friend Michael of Inspired by Charm.  Be sure to give his a try and check out some of the other varieties we pinned as well.

4- DIY Graphic Tees

These have been around for a while, but we love the fact that it’s something you can totally personalize AND your friend or family will want to wear it because it looks cool! There are a few different tutorials for how to make them (all pinned for ya), but I preferred to use iron on letters. Easy peasy and look great!

5- DIY Room Freshener

Make your home smell amazing, without filling it with chemicals! I loved trying out ABM’s room freshener recipe using essential oils.  This amazing dynamic duo also just launched their own line of essential oils, so you’ll definitely want to check those out!

6- Stovetop Potpourri

Throwing it back with this idea… I know potpourri can seem circa 1900s, but some things are just timeless friends! My pal Julie Blanner shared a recipe that I definitely recommend trying!  I loved layering in lots of natural ingredients in mason jars – they look super pretty and smell even better!  This is a perfect gift for neighbors!
