Hey guys! I’ve teamed up with Command™ Brand to bring you some fun DIY projects featuring their line of home and organization products-  we’re focusing on those hard-to-tackle small spaces, and how to bring some serious style even when space is at a premium. Fall is here, and it’s time to cozy up by a fireplace with your favorite book and flannel blanket, but… not all of us are lucky enough to have a fireplace or even a mantel for that reason, but good news! I’ve got a fun living room idea for you to create a faux fireplace mantel that will still make you want to cuddle on up next to your “fireplace!”

Just because you don’t live in an old farmhouse with a super cool fireplace mantel doesn’t mean you can’t have that same thing for your tiny apartment or home! We created our very own fall-themed mantel with a little help from our friends at Command™ Brand using these Command™ Picture Ledges!

Before– look at that boring wall, just begging for some autumn decor and pumpkin spice cheer!

After– if you don’t think that screams fall… you’re just a crazy person!

Here’s what you’ll need to make your own faux fall mantel…

(You better believe I raided the dollar store!)

Materials: Command™ Picture Ledges | Command™ Clear Decorating Hooks | Command™ Poster Strips | Level | Festive fall decor | Chalk | Kraft Paper

Step 1: Before you put anything on your wall, make sure to clean your wall with rubbing alcohol to ensure proper adhesion.

Step 2: Following the steps on the back of the Command™ Picture Ledge packaging, separate the strips, peel off the red side, adhere to the ledge, and then remove the black side. Use a level to make sure the ledge is straight, then press firmly and hold on the wall for 10 seconds. Slide the ledge up and off and press each base for 30 seconds. Remember to let the ledge sit for 1 hour for the adhesive to reach full strength before you place anything on it. Do this for 2 Picture Ledges to create your mantel.

Step 3: Now that you have your “mantel” assembled, it’s time to start decorating! Each ledge holds 5lbs.

Step 4: Sometimes a little bit of wall space is all you have, and this faux fireplace mantel needed some fall decor! We hung this little Thankful banner with Command™ Clear Clips for an extra pop of color!

A mantel isn’t a mantel without a little fire, am I right? Grab some kraft paper and cut yourself a fireplace! We used chalk to draw on our cutesy little raging fire and Command™ Poster Strips to hang it– you can easily change out the imagery with the season.

Ok, time to grab that flannel, a hot mug of cider and get to town on making your very own fall mantel.
