I’m going to start sharing my room mood boards with you, because A- eye candy is fun B- It gives you a peek into what was going on in my brain while designing the space and C- Maybe they’ll inspire you to put your own spin on it and use it for one of your spaces
This mood board is for the Master Bedroom that’s going to get a pretty massive makeover in tomorrow’s episode of The Weekender- my new video makeover series with Lowe’s!
A few things I love about this board:
1- That chunky weave (if only my chunky parts were this appealing!)
2- Combining natural textures… the rustic wood and wicker
3- The bold, yet cozy Teal accent color
Can’t wait for you to see the full makeover. Be sure to check back tomorrow to watch the episode!

Hi,
My name is Rachel and I have a very large sized living room with the tray ceilings which make it seem bigger. We just moved into this house and feeling somewhat blown away and not sure on how to bring me into the room and accommodate such a large room.
Hey Rachel- the massive master bedroom that I just posted might have some ideas for you. We used 2 different sitting areas and divided the space into zones. Big spaces can be really intimidating. I feel ya!
Hi Rachel– I understand it can be intimidating when you have a lot of space, and tons of ideas, but it’s hard to narrow it down and make a decision. Check out episode 4 of Season 1 of The Weekender here to see how we worked with a massive space and even tray ceilings!
I love this moodboard! And moodboards in general 🙂 My master bedroom is painted that wall colour and I haven’t really figured out the rest of the room – this is great inspiration 🙂
What is the name of the darker blue/green color? I have a huge and very while master and connected bath and I am so wanting to duplicate your room and bath. You are my hero! I am sooooo glad I found your site.
Also, I have been dithering about the floor covering for the master and adjacent builder grade stairway with 2×12 plank steps both of which were covered in nasty carpet. I keep going around and around- laminate, wood (do I need a humidifier in AZ?), carpet or vinyl plank?
Finally the 16″ tiles in the master bath are oyster and not that pretty, but they do go with the multicolored gray/black/oyster granite I put in. Keep or yank them out. If yanked, what to replace it with?.
