Today I’m sharing the second interview of my Summer Road Trippin’ Series and catching up with my pal Shannon of Aka Design. If you missed the first trip featuring Sarah M. Dorsey check it out here.
Mon: Have you had any exciting features or collaborations in the past year?
Shannon: We have had so many brands collaborations and some home tours on other blogs as well as magazine mentions in BHG Kitchen and Bath Makeovers and Mollie Makes!

Mon: Have you gone on any amazing trips? Work or Pleasure? Do Tell!
Shannon: I went to SNAP (blogger conference) for the first time which was great fun – despite 13 hours of travel, flight delays and rerouting through Dallas from Toronto!

Mon: Got any memories or stories from your experience trying to survive CWTS?
Shannon: We ordered a lot of pizza. And our kids watched a LOT of tv. 🙂

Mon: What’s one TIP you’d give to someone considering entering CWTS in 2016?
Shannon: Be prepared to do nothing else for four weeks! Honestly keeping up with real life just isn’t possible while participating. It’s so much fun and totally worth it though – you get projects done and lots of eyeballs on them too!
Mon: What’s your favorite summer food?
Shannon: BBQ anything! Seriously. We got a new BBQ this year and I’m throwing everything on there!

Mon: What’s in your beach bag? Must Haves!
Shannon: Hmm. A towel, sunscreen, iphone (for the tunes!) and a great magazine.

Mon: What’s your summer song of 2015?
Shannon: Night of My Life by Group 1 Crew!
Mon: Did CWTS push you to be a better blogger? more creative? take your business to the next level? give you more confidence? etc…
Shannon: After the dust settled we took stock and actually realized we could only do large projects like room makeovers about once a month or so. Which meant we actually focused more on smaller DIYs throughout the year. Which oddly enough helped us grow because readers love a huge project but they really think they can only actually do a smaller one themselves!
Shannon is super talented and she and her husband make a great team! Here are a few of my favorite projects she’s done recently. Check them out!
