There’s no mistaking the fact that East Coast Creative is a DIY blog, and not a fashion blog, but… I’ve had to branch myself into fashion a lot more because of the on-air TV side of my business. I have plans to dedicate an entire post to my sent-from-heaven-stylist Toi Sweeney, but for now I’ll just say that she taught me that it’s okay to want to be a totally casual girl and have a style that’s just right for me.
I thought it would be fun to share a gift guide for the Casual Fashionista
This is my take on Casual Fashion
This is my Casual Winter Fashion Gift Guide with Macy’s!
I so wish I had seen the green stone necklace before my photo shoot- I’m obsessed with it. What I really love about the casual fashionista style is that it can be tweaked to fit each person. Dark and a tad moody in my pic (and so not a professional model) and then lighter and brighter in the look below. All using similar foundational pieces.
Seriously, listen to me talking about fashion like I have a clue… My stylist Toi would be a proud mama right now! She’s taught me everything I know and more!

And since the color is in both pictures above… have you seen the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year?
Introducing… Marsala
I asked on Instagram how what you guys thought about it and it was solidly divided- some of you love it, a few are unsure, and some of you hate it! Personally, I’m so happy with the choice and it’s a color I already wear a lot! I’m going to share my design color combos and tips for Marsala later this week! I know it might seem 90s at first, but give me a chance to convince you otherwise! I’m pretty sure I can!
I love your picks! I really really need to get one of those floppy hats.
