It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for- We’re about to reveal the Round 4 Results and crown a new Creating with the Stars Champion! This season of CWTS has far surpassed our expectations- every round was filled with incredible projects! Here’s a link recap for ya:
We threw everyone a bit of a curveball last week, when we announced that there would be not just 3, but 4 contestants in the final round. We are SO thrilled to announce our additional Grand Prize Sponsor is Make It Yourself Magazine from Better Homes & Gardens Special Interest Publications! Guys, when BHG wants to see more DIY, well, ya give them more DIY! It’s a no-brainer!
The winner of Creating with the Stars will be featured and have one of their CWTS projects & tutorials in the Fall 2014 issue! We are so excited for the winners and know how exciting this feature will be! We can’t wait to see it!
The Spring issue of Make It Yourself comes out on April 29th and I think you should definitely pick up a copy… You just might see a project from a certain blogger from this little ole EC2 blog.
Now that you know who our surprise sponsor is- let’s recap what else our winner is getting hooked up with from our amazing Grand Prize Creating with the Stars Sponsors!
$1000 Visa Gift card from ForRent.com (Contestant)
$500 Visa Gift card from ForRent.com (Blog Star)
We love For Rent.com and they’re so much more than just a rental/apartment finder- They have tons of inspiration, helpful articles, and you might even find some Rental-friendly project ideas from yours truly.
$500 Wayfair Giftcard
Wayfair’s tagline is “A Zillion Things Home” and it’s legit! I can get lost on their site for hours browsing everything under the sun! I’m really excited to furnish a really large DIY project next month, so I’ve been on the Modern Furniture page a lot lately!
Without further ado…
We present the 2014 Creating with the Stars Results!
The Champion of Creating with the Stars 2014:
Becki & Chris: Multi-Purpose Basement Studio
Becki and Chris were strong throughout the entire competition! They placed in the top 3 every single round working their way from 3rd, to 2nd, and securing 1st place in the last two rounds! Their distinct, minimalist style was always modern, but not stark and cold. Each project had the perfect balance of simplicity and yet insanely advanced DIY skills! Their grand prize winning makeover still boggles my mind- there were so many projects and details put into their studio makeover. I’m just trying to figure out how to get myself to Canada to see it in person! Jess and I are so thankful Becki and Chris entered CWTS this year- they were actually the last entry out of 299, getting their project in just before the link-up closed!
We hope that each of you will be adding their blog- The Adventures of The Uncommon Common Law to your daily reads. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us the rest of this year!
And we’d be remiss if we didn’t thank their blog star- Karrianne from Thistlewood Farms. She was one of the most encouraging blog stars we’ve ever had the privilege of working with and she mentored and cheered Becki and Chris on every step of the way. Karrianne is a class act and I’m thankful to call her friend!
2nd Place- Runner Up
Mallory & Savannah: Wood Scalloped Wall Treatment & Colorful Bedroom
Lindsay: Masculine meets Feminine Master Bedroom
Shannon: Vintage Industrial Bathroom Makeover
What an awesome season! Now we’re gonna take a nap!
Ha! Just kidding…kinda. This contest is one of our very favorite parts of blogging and if you’re new to East Coast Creative, we hope you’ll stick around and hang out with us often! We’ve got tons of DIY projects coming up for you starting next week and if you love CWTS we’re sure you’ll love our TV Show– it’s basically the live version of a blog room makeover each episode!
Don’t forget – you still have time to link up your own home decor project for a chance to win a Ryobi prize pack and a feature on EC2 this weekend! We’ll be announcing the winner of our Apple Vacations® Dream Vacation on Monday– make sure you check back to see if you’re headed to Punta Cana- if so, can you bring me?
