Well, to say that the Round 1 projects blew us away would be the understatement of the year. Guys, I was seriously sitting in our hotel room at our resort in Mexico pouring over them and as each project would hit our inbox, I would gasp and call my husband over to look! He was super nice and pretended to care- I think he thought that would be the best response to get us out on the beach as quickly as possible. Ha! Jess and I are just so thankful that we didn’t have to choose our favorite- the voting was in your hands and you guys picked your favorites as hard as it was.
And here’s the percentage breakdown- it was so, so close in some spots. 1st and 2nd were less than half a percentage point apart and 9th and 10th place were within one percent too. It was a nail biter until the very end! All of these bloggers are Ah-mazing!

Thanks to all of you- readers, bloggers, contestants, stars, and sponsors- for making the first round of Creating with the Stars a huge success!
Aw, so sad about people being voted off. Their projects were amazing! I loved the timber slat coffee table myself, and want something like that in my house. All the projects were incredibly skilled.
Mindy, I was going to say the same thing; the timber slat coffee table was a favourite of mine too. Such amazing, amazing projects. Definitely glad it was a group vote, J&M — too hard otherwise! Can’t wait for next week.

congrats to all who made it through! i can honestly say though that i am SHOCKED like jaw to the floor shocked that kristin didn’t make it with her cabinet- it was unique and cool and required mad skills!
I know! I was stunned, too! And the styling was great. Seriously, all the projects were soooo good though! Looking forward to next week.
Me too!!! That was my favorite one!!
All the projects were so amazing! Sad to see the bottom 3 go. Could be fun next year to have all the contestants do every round and average the scores from each round to determine a winner. Then we don’t have to say goodbye to anyone each week, each contestant gets optimal time to shine over various categories, and there will be even MORE inspiration! Just a thought!
I love that idea! Or at least get two rounds to see what they can do! I can see great things coming from all of those in the bottom three! While I loved all of their projects, I can see all of them shining more!
